We love our students and can't wait to help you find the perfect book!!

Library Expectations

1.       Great reasons to be in the library: to READ, LOOK FOR BOOKS, WORK ON HOMEWORK, and DO RESEARCH.

2.     Please check-in with your ID Card when you enter the library during lunch.

3.     Eating and drinking should be done outside of the library. NO EATING, DRINKING or GUM CHEWING is permitted.

4.     Talking and working together is encouraged in the library, but voices should be kept QUIET. Be respectful of all students, adults, and library materials.

5.      Walking is the only form of transportation allowed in the library J…no running or horseplay.

6.     Computers are to be used for school purposes only. This may include looking up a book on Destiny (our online library catalog), completing a homework assignment, or doing research for a project. Games, surfing the internet, and using your personal e-mail for things unrelated to school assignments are not permitted.

7.     Printing is available (black and white or color). Printing may only be done for school-related purposes and the color printer may only be used WITH PERMISSION (please ask Mrs. Zinner or Mrs. Naftzger BEFORE you press the print button). There is a 2 page limit for color printing. Additional colored pages cost 10 cents each.

8.      ID cards are required to check out books.

9.     Backpacks may be left by the front door, or taken to a table if you need to work on homework. Backpacks should be left on the floor if you are at a table.

10.    Books and Play-Aways (books on MP3 players) may be checked out for 30 days. Magazines may be checked out for 7 days. You may check out up to 3 books at one time. If you are still reading after those time periods expire, you may renew!

Please remember to return your books on time!
Happy reading!

The Care and Feeding of Your Textbooks

1. Each student is issued one set of textbooks.
2. Students are held accountable for the exact books, identified by barcode, that are checked out to them at the beginning of the school year.
3. Students should put their names in their books as soon as possible to avoid accidentally swapping books with another student.
4. Your textbooks are EXPENSIVE!
The sets range in value from about $240-$300! Please keep them away from pets, younger brothers and sisters, and liquids, as you will be charged for any damage that occurs to the books while under your care. You will also be charged for any lost books, so make sure you know where they are!

Unfortunately, we do not have enough textbooks district wide to offer second sets of textbooks to students. If you are a student who travels between homes, here are some helpful options:

Some textbooks are available online.
Collections English Language Arts
Carnegie Learning Math
You may purchase a second set from some reliable sites, like www.amazon.com or www.alibris.com.
